Huron 13U sweeps Brookings in twinbill

BROOKINGS - The Huron 13U Teener team traveled to Brookings and swept a pair of games Tuesday against Brookings’ Bombers Maroon team. The first game kicked off with a bang, as Huron scored nine runs in the top of the second inning, only to have the home team answer with six runs in the bottom of the inning. MITCHELL – Post 8 split a doubleheader with Mitchell Post 18 in Legion baseball Wednesday at Cadwell Park, winning the first game 14-11 before dropping the nightcap 9-4. Post 8 led 9-2 in the first game before Mitchell scored six in the fourth. The Eights then scored three in the sixth and two more in the seventh. George Stalley, Bennett Dean, Jayden Wiebe and Brecken Krueger drove in two runs each. Krueger had three hits. Post 8 had 14 hits and 10 walks. Isaac Polak worked the first two innings on the mound for the win.

At Monday nights Huron City Commission meeting commissioner Mark Robish announced an additional stop sign will be placed on 3rd street for safety concerns. City approves cost increase in PVC pipe

HURON — The Huron City Commission approved a significant change order for the wastewater treatment plant project as part of its proceedings Monday evening. City engineer Brett Runge presented the change order to Gridor Construction, Inc. for an increase of $104,864 to the commission with the explanation that it was for the increasing cost of PVC pipe for the project.
