This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department reports. Wednesday night, Officers responded to the 1300 block of East 5th Street for a report of assault. The victim reported that a neighbor known to him had come over to his home and beat him. The victim sustained injuries, but refused medical treatment at the scene. The suspect fled the area and was not located. A charge of Assault in the 3rd Degree is being requested from the Pettis County Prosecutor.

An area law enforcement agency is asking for help from the public. The Boonville Police Department is seeking help in identifying two subjects in surveillance photos wanted for questioning regarding the theft of a motor vehicle, which was committed at about 4:50 a.m. on June 26 near the intersection of 1st Street and Morgan Street.

They can't sell them in city limits, either. So this really is just for people out in the county, because I'm SURE nobody in the city limits will be discharging any type of firework. Ever. Not in my neighborhood. But there will be a city fireworks show, so the noise will be real.

Two Sedalians were injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday evening in Saline County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 1988 Chevrolet 1500, driven by 60-year-old Randall E. Hardin of Sweet Springs, was on Missouri 127, south of 150th Road around 6:45 p.m., when he crossed the center line and began traveling south in the northbound lane.
