The Akron Rams baseball team picked up an extra game last week, adding a Tuesday afternoon matchup with Merino to the schedule. The 1A, second ranked Merino Rams proved to be too much for the Akron Rams, taking an early 5-1 lead after the 1st inning, and cruising to an 11-1 victory.

Cougars second at Strasburg meet

The Burlington Cougars track team placed second at the Strasburg Dave Miller Invitational track meet this past Saturday. Burlington scored 101 points, second to Limon’s 117. The Cougars got a gold medal performance from Aaron Robles in the 1600-meter run, along with Keaton Floyd in the shot put. Also, their 3200 relay placed first.

Colorado's first statewide prison radio station goes on the air

Inside the education wing of Limon Correctional Facility there’s a buzz of activity. A group of incarcerated men are huddled in a foam-lined recording studio, preparing to go on the air. There are producers in green uniforms behind the microphones getting ready to pre-record the launch of Inside Wire, Colorado Prison Radio.
