Donald Denesia age 98 of Broken Bow, NE passed away July 1, 2022, at the Brookestone View in Broken Bow, NE. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at 10:00 am at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Broken Bow, NE with Father Jim Hunt officiating. ARNOLD, Neb. (KNOP) - Nebraska’s Senior Offensive Analyst, Ron Brown, hosted a football clinic called “Pass It On Camp” for boys between 3rd and 8th grade. The camp is run through Kingdom Sports, which was founded by Brown and former Husker, Gordon Thiessen. Funeral Services for Judy Hazen, age 76

Judy Kay Hazen, age 76, of Omaha, NE (formerly of Merna, NE) passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022. Life without Judy, her smiles and contagious laughter, will not be the same, but the reassurance that she is free of pain, illness, and restraints, brings comfort to those missing her dearly. Judy dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family and her legacy lives on in those she leaves behind – four loving and spirited children – Roxanne Stowers and two granddaughters, Danielle and Alexandra (Lincoln, NE); Melody Hazen (Chicago, IL); Justin (Christin) Hazen and granddaughter, Mary Grace (Aurora, CO); and Melissa (Monte) Goodwin (Omaha, NE); a sister, Donna (Darrel) Sybrant (Broken Bow, NE), and many dear family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Herzel and Evelyn (Smith) Thompson, and brother Charlie (Ruth) Thompson.

Broken Bow Spirit 14U team Falls by One Run to Cozad

The Broken Bow Spirit 14U team hosted the Cozad Classics Thursday evening. The two battled back and forth in a thrilling seven inning contest. The two teams combined for ten runs in the first inning as the game was tied 5-5 after one inning. Broken Bow took an 8-7 lead after the sixth inning but Cozad came back with 2 runs in the 7th and held on for a 9-8 win. Each team finished with 12 hits. Natalie Wardyn was 3 for 3 in the game with 2 RBI. Ida Bumgarner went 2 for 3 with a run scored and two runs batted in. Klarissa Dowdy also had a multi hit game finishing 2 for 2 with two runs scored. The Bow Spirit 14U team is now 14-15 on the season.
