The Cripple Creek Band has a unique sound that tastefully combines country, Americana and southern rock music. TUD Repairing Pipeline Break In Sonora

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne Utilities District reports that emergency repairs are being made on a pipeline break on Barretta Street in Sonora. Barretta Street is currently closed between the intersections of Gold Street and Shepherd Street. A detour is set up around the work area. The repair work is anticipated to continue until around 12:30pm. Be prepared for activity, and avoid the area if possible.

16-Year-Old Amador High School Student Dies After Hit-And-Run In Sutter Creek

SUTTER CREEK (CBS13) – Authorities say the 16-year-old boy who was left in grave condition after a hit-and-run in the Amador County community of Sutter Creek Tuesday evening has died. The Sutter Creek Police Department says, a little after 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Highway 49 and Valley View Way for a reported collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Officers believe the teen and another person were trying to cross the road when the 16-year-old was struck. Police say the teen was rushed to a hospital in Sacramento; his condition was reported as “grave.” Wednesday evening, police announced that the died had died from his injuries. The name of the teen has not been released, but police say he was a student at Amador High School. Matthew Galea, a 40-year-old Shingle Springs resident, has since been identified as the alleged driver in the incident. He was arrested in El Dorado County with the help of California Highway Patrol and the local sheriff’s office. The incident is still under investigation.

Joint investigation leads to arraignment of El Dorado County business owners for insurance fraud

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Troy Williams, 49, of Angels Camp, Nanci Morman, 68, of Somerset, and John Allison, 63, of Rocklin, were arraigned yesterday on multiple felony counts of insurance fraud after a joint investigation with the California Department of Insurance and the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office revealed the defendants allegedly conspired together to illegally lower their company’s workers’ compensation insurance premiums and defraud the State Compensation Insurance Fund (State Fund) of over $125,000.

Red Church Project Nearing Completion

Sonora, CA – The no parking signs have come down and the new sidewalks are in place, signaling that the Red Church Project is coming to a close. The project began on April 18 and will improve pedestrian access and circulation at the three-way intersection of N. Washington Street/Highway 49, Elkin and Snell streets in front of the Saint James Episcopal Church, as reported here. The contractor, United Pavement Maintenance out of Hughson, says all concrete and asphalt work has been completed.
