Williston’s Weekly Street Party, Summer Nights on Main, is Back!

Williston, ND (KEYZ) Kick-off your shoes and crack a cold one . . . Williston's annual summer street party, Summer Nights on Main, is back!. Summer Nights on Main is a free 9-week concert series put on by the Williston Downtowners Association and sponsored each week by different area businesses and organizations. Concert goers flood Main Street from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. each Thursday evening during the summer to listen to great bands performing music from a variety of genres, eat great food from a dozen or so food vendors, and chill in the Beer Garden. SNOM, as the locals call it, even has activities for the kids. It is truly a family-friendly event.

Williams County Vector Control director discusses spraying efforts

WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) - The Williams County Vector Control Director spoke to the Williston City Commission this week to discuss the season’s spraying efforts. Dr. Levi Zahn told commissioners that wet conditions throughout the spring brought mosquitoes to the county about three weeks earlier than normal. Unfortunately, weather conditions this summer have made it difficult for aerial spraying.

Williston Man Injured in Rear-End Collision on Highway 2

Williston, ND (KEYZ) A 42-year-old Williston man sustains minor injuries Monday, June 27 after being rear-ended on Highway 2 west of Ray. The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that a Ram pickup driven by 23-year-old Beau Hyatt of Bainville, Montana struck the rear end of a John Deere tractor being operated by 42-year-old Patrick Evanson of Williston around 3:00 p.m. Monday afternoon. Both vehicles were traveling westbound on Highway 2, nine miles west of Ray.

Family Crisis Shelter looking for additional funding from Williams County

WILLISTON, N.D. – Officials with the Family Crisis Shelter in Williston are looking to receive additional funding from the Williams County Commission. The shelter covers victims of domestic and sexual assault throughout Williams, McKenzie, and Divide Counties. They also support those struggling with homelessness, drug abuse, and mental health. Speaking at a county commission meeting last week, officials say a lack of donations throughout the pandemic has them struggling with their upkeep costs.

Taylor Honored as Sidney Kiwanis Athlete of the Year

Fairview High School graduate Teigan Taylor was awarded the Sidney Kiwanis Club Athlete of the Year on June 23 at the Sidney Elks Club.
