The Boardman Clerk’s Office announced the city needs to fill the seat Katy Norton left when she resigned July 12 due to moving away from the area. And Paul Beagle’s resignation July 15 for personal issues created the second opening on the council. The city council accepted both resignations at its Aug. 2 meeting.

The Boardman City Council is seeking letters of interest from individuals willing to be considered for appointment to fill two vacancies on the city council. One person appointed will fill Katy Norton’s seat, who resigned on July 12 due to moving away from the area. Deadline to File for Boardman City Council Seat is Aug. 30

Boardman residents interested in running for Boardman City Council in the Nov. 8 election have until Aug. 30 to file. The city has three councilor positions open for election this year, with terms ending Dec. 31, 2026. Interested parties must be at least 18 years of age and reside within the city limits. They must have also lived within the city limits 12 months immediately preceding election day and be a registered voter no less than 20 days immediately preceding the election.

The Gilliam County Historical Museum Complex, located right next to Burns Park in Condon, displays several historical buildings with furnished period interiors, including an 1884 Homestead, 1905 Railroad Depot, a 1900 Country School house, a 1900’s Barbershop, the old Condon City Hall and Jail, a country church, and finally a large agricultural display building with antique equipment and vehicles.
