Historic church celebrates rebirth with new baptism

The American Red Cross is experiencing a severe blood shortage as the number of trauma cases, organ transplants and elective surgeries rise– and deplete the nation’s blood inventory. Donors of all blood types – especially type O and those giving platelets – are urged to make an appointment to give as soon as possible to prevent further impact to patients.

Summer Feeding Program underway

The City of Troy’s Summer Feeding Program is back in session. Last summer, the program had to switch to a grab-and-go bag lunch for students due to COVID-19 restrictions. Jan Baxter Lee, coordinator of the program for the City of Troy, said those protocols will remain in place this year as well.

Bual Clayton Wood and Mary Louise (Massey) Wood of Abbeville celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 11, 2021. They were married June 11, 1961, at Chancellor Assembly of God in Chancellor. Bual is the son of the Late Noah and Rubye Lee Wood. Louise is the daughter the Late J.L. and Hawtense Massey. They are parents of two children, Andy (Angie) Wood and Kevin Wood (deceased).
