Ardmore track and field duo sign to run for OU, Southeastern

ARDMORE, Okla (KXII) - The Ardmore Tigers held signings for two track and field standouts with Ricky Smith Jr going to Oklahoma and Naughtica Douglas heading to Southeastern. For the first time in 23 years, the Tigers are sending a track and field athlete to Norman. Ricky Smith Jr, who won state in the 100 and 200, is headed to Oklahoma. He signed his official letter of intent to run track surrounded by family and friends in Ardmore.

ARDMORE, Oklahoma (KTEN) - Ardmore High School, one of the best track programs in the state had two of its runners sign their collegiate letters of intent on Thursday. Ricky Smith Jr. signed with the University of Oklahoma after previously committing to Southeastern Oklahoma State University for football. Nancy June (Collins) Morgan was born on August 10, 1950, at De Lay Hospital in Sulphur, to Mr. Nathaniel Valentine “Vol” Collins Jr. and Mrs. Lavita Iris Collins. She passed on to join her redeemer on June 12, 2022, at the age of 71 years, 10 months, and 2 days. She married David W. Morgan of Mill Creek on April 1, 1975, in Gainesville, TX. They had two sons together and later divorced in 1986. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Christina Carrion of Fate, Texas; and two sons, David N. Morgan and James L. Morgan, both of Sulphur. Nancy is also survived by her brother, John D. Collins of Fate, TX, and sister Mary Ann Wallace of Ringling, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.
