Fire tears through Punta Gorda home

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — A Punta Gorda home was destroyed after a fire tore through it early Wednesday morning, officials said. Firefighters were called to the home at 26171 Deer Road around 5:30 a.m. and found the home completely engulfed in flames, according to the Charlotte County Fire Department.

Seagate Development Group hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for its newest design-build, American Builders & Contractors Supply Co. Inc.’s 60,000-square-foot warehouse and office area at the Charlotte County Park of Commerce, adjacent to the Punta Gorda Airport, June 24. The pre-engineered metal building will accommodate a 53,200-plus-square-foot warehouse and a 6,700-plus-square-foot office area, along with a fenced outdoor yard. The office space will feature a conference room as well as a break room and showroom.
