Wareham DNR Reports ‘Boo Boo’ the Black Bear Is in Town

“Boo Boo” the bear has apparently made his way down to Wareham. The black bear who has been nicknamed “Boo Boo” by area police departments and residents has been spotted in a number of communities in Southeastern Massachusetts in recent weeks, working his way through Norton, Taunton, Lakeville, Middleboro, Kingston, and Carver, and now it is believed he is the same black bear seen over the past few days in South Wareham.

Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash in Falmouth

FALMOUTH – A car and motorcycle collided in Falmouth around 6:45 PM Sunday. The crash happened on Main Street (Route 28) near Falmouth Heights Road. The motorcyclist reportedly suffered serious leg injuries and was rushed to Falmouth Hospital where a MedFlight helicopter was requested to land to fly the victim to a trauma center. Falmouth Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

WAREHAM — After a skipped season during the pandemic, the Wareham Gatemen are back with a bit of a different housing situation this year. Traditionally, the collegiate Cape Cod Baseball League players are welcomed into the homes of host families in the SouthCoast region. Recognizing that some families may not feel comfortable inviting players from all over the country into their homes right as COVID-19 restrictions begin to lift, the team worked out a partnership with the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth to house its players for the summer season.
