A two-county high speed chase came to an end Friday afternoon in Jim Thorpe. The incident began in Tamaqua around 3 p.m. when police were notified of a suspected intoxicated woman operating a Chevrolet Malibu. The chase began on Route 309 South when the woman turned onto Owl Creek Road.

Burglaries, Car Thefts, And Motor Vehicle Pursuits Lead To Arrests In The Poconos

A crime spree within the Mount Pocono area ends with multiple felony charges. According to the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department, On May 28, a gray Toyota Camry fled police after failing to stop leading to a pursuit in Coolbaugh Township. After coming to a stop, four individuals fled from the vehicle, which was determined to have been stolen from Burks Tavern in Mt. Pocono. A search revealed a stolen handgun and a cell phone belonging to a 15-year-old juvenile male. The search also revealed a connection between the juvenile and one Shateek Burks.

Mahanoy City Man Arrested for Incident at Shenandoah Liquor Store

A Mahanoy City man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison after an incident Friday evening at the Shenandoah Liquor Store. According to Shenandoah Police, officers responded to a disturbance call that was placed by the employees of the Wine and Spirits at the Gold Star Plaza. According to the employees, a male came in to make a purchase of alcohol but was already heavily intoxicated.

Carjacking suspect arrested following 100 mph chase on I-78 in northern Berks

A New York man was arrested after leading local and state police on a high-speed chase along Interstate 78 following an armed carjacking in northwestern Berks County. Police successfully deployed spike strips Thursday evening to flatten the tires of the stolen car, ending the roughly 13-mile chase near Hamburg, and arrested the 20-year-old robbery suspect, Jarrion Wiggins of New York.

Nazareth man to serve up to 6 months in jail, license suspended in DUI crash into home

A Nazareth man was sentenced to up to six months in jail and probation following a drunken driving crash last year into an Upper Nazareth Township home. Joseph Anthony Capobianco appeared Friday afternoon before Berks County Senior Judge Stephen B. Lieberman on drunken driving and reckless endangerment charges. The sentencing included 3 days to 6 months in Northampton County Prison for the drunken driving offense and two years probation to run consecutively for the three counts of reckless endangerment charges.

Coroner seeks family of Upper Macungie woman

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Lehigh County coroner's office is looking for relatives of an Upper Macungie Township woman. Susan Chapkovich, 65, died Friday morning at her home, the coroner said.
