Today the Butler Senior Center was honored to celebrate Stacey and Erma Hutton 65th wedding anniversary. This celebration was a surprise to the Hutton’s. They went to the Butler Senior Center to have a meatloaf dinner and play in a puzzle tournament. Just a normal day of having lunch at the Butler Senior Center.

There is a need in the Appleton City community (including Montrose and Rockville) to establish a “community organization” focused on meeting and enjoying activities with others the area. Trinity United Methodist Church at 214 E. 3rd St, is offering their social hall for a meeting place to establish an “Over 50 Club”. They plan to meet Wednesday, June 29 at noon. They will not be checking birth certificates, so if you are looking for a little more social interaction, please join them or call so they can keep you informed. Bates County Memorial selects Jennifer Klinsick as chief nursing officer

Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler, Mo., has selected Jennifer Klinksick, RN, as its new chief nursing officer, 921 News reported June 30. Ms. Klinksick has been serving in the role since June 1. She joined the hospital in 2007 as a staff nurse and has since served in several nurse management roles. Most recently, she was the nurse manager for inpatient and critical care units.

In News From the Butler City Council

During the recent Butler city council meeting it was announced that the airport commission and local crop dusters have come to a conclusion that will work well for all regarding access to the tarmac and runway at Butler Municipal Airport, after concerns that access would be limited following asphalt resurfacing of this month. City Administrator Mike West said that access will continue ‘as is’ this year but next year plans call for construction of a paved area near the south end of the runway for ag planes and trucks used to fill them, including a new road from business 49 highway.

Glenda Sue McElroy, age 86 of Butler, MO passed away at the Bates County Memorial Hospital, Butler, MO. Glenda’s wishes was to be cremated with no services at this time. Glenda is survived by two daughters, Robin Dye and husband Joel of Springfield, MO, and Shannon Bjerke and husband of Butler, MO; and one sister, Martha Beshore of Butler, MO.

The Clinton School District Announces Amanda Blackwell as New Middle School Math Teacher

The Clinton School District is excited to announce that Amanda Blackwell is joining the Clinton Middle School team as a math teacher. Mrs. Blackwell actually began her teaching career as a Clinton Cardinal 14 years ago when she was a CMS Discovery teacher. Since then, she has taught at Green Ridge and Sherwood, where she spent the last 10 years teaching multiple math, history and computer classes. Amanda has also been an adjunct instructor for Central Methodist University.

HENRY COUNTY, Mo. – A single vehicle accident fatal for two Windsor residents over the weekend.
