GREAT FALLS — Plentywood's girls and Seeley-Swan's guys have jumped out to leads after Day 1 of the 2022 State C track and field meet at Memorial Stadium in Great Falls. Plentywood was led by Annie Kaul on Friday. Kaul won the pole vault with a vault of 10 feet, 6 inches and fourth in the 1,600-meter run. Kaul wasn't a one-woman show, though, as Audrey Sampsen contributed points with a second-place finish in the high jump and fifth in the 400-meter dash.

Dwight Dulane Wilson passed away peacefully on May 17, 2022 surrounded by his family. On May 12, 1939, he became the first-born son of Irvin and Isabelle Wilson in Plentywood, Mont. Irvin was a farmer and Isabelle (Peg) was a school teacher. Dwight attended grade school at a country school in Raymond, Mont., after which his parents moved to Plentywood where his mother taught for nearly 40 years. His dad continued to farm.

BOZEMAN — Plentywood's nationally ranked javelin thrower Cameron Brusven and Billings West slugger Camden Susott are the 406mtsports.com Athletes of the Month for April. Brusven, a senior who has headed to the University of Mary in North Dakota top play football in the fall, uncorked a personal best javelin toss of 197 feet, 8 inches on April 28 to rank ninth in the nation. He also won the Glasgow Invitational on April 1 with 180-3 and the R&L Invitational on April 7 with 181-5.
