REPORT OF A STABBING OVERNIGHT

An emergency call of a stabbing prompted requests to Richmond law enforcement agencies to respond overnight. The incident occurred on the Richmond Avenue bridge. Medics and police arrived and reports were the victim suffered an arm wound and the suspects fled the scene with officers pursuing. No additional information has been released as to the condition of the victim or the suspects.

SHOTS FIRED NEAR VAIL ELEMENTARY

An emergency call of shots fired in the area of Vail Elementary school last night. Richmond police officers responded and reports are that one hispanic male was placed into custody. The emergency call prompted requests for EMS as well, but no additional information as to the condition of the suspect was made available. Walk for wellness planned July 23 in Celina

CELINA — The “Women’s Walk for Wellness” will begin at 8:05 a.m. Saturday, July 23 at the Lion’s Club Shelter House on Ash Street, at North Shore Park, Celina. Hayner’s 2022 Lucky Lemonade Concert Series opens with The Hamiltons

TROY — The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center will host The Hamiltons at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, as part of their Lucky Lemonade summer concert series. The public is invited to come and sit awhile with Lonnie, Lawrence, Vance and Mike. This band was started over 50 years ago by Mom and Dad, Ronnie and Martha Hamilton. Lonnie and Lawrence began to join-in when they were just 11 and 12 and have continued the pursuit of this family tradition. Lonnie plays guitar, bass, fiddle, banjo and Lawrence plays guitar, bass and mandolin. On guitar and bass is Mike Powell who joined the group as a youngster. Vance Spellman joined the group a few years ago, and has also been playing the guitar since he was just a young kid.

Stacey Vest has been making wigs for 17 years, but these are not typical hairpieces. In one of her latest creations, faux leaves, flowers, and jewels pile upward and outward on blonde and blue strands, Marie Antoinette-style. Her work has always been inspired by the Club Kids scene from the ’90s. “It was a lot of self-expression, dancing, and non-gender-specific ways of decorating yourself,” Vest says. “I was going to parties, and I’d see someone dressed in a head-to-toe suit with spikes coming out, and I’d think, I want to know that person. Meanwhile I was the kid putting battery-pack Christmas lights down my pants.”
