Donald Denesia age 98 of Broken Bow, NE passed away July 1, 2022, at the Brookestone View in Broken Bow, NE. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at 10:00 am at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Broken Bow, NE with Father Jim Hunt officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or the Knights of Columbus. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 5th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with rosary at 5:00 pm at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangements. Ron Brown hosts “Pass It On” Football Clinic in Arnold

ARNOLD, Neb. (KNOP) - Nebraska’s Senior Offensive Analyst, Ron Brown, hosted a football clinic called “Pass It On Camp” for boys between 3rd and 8th grade. Broken Bow Junior Golf Program Tournament Results

The 2022 Jr. Golf Tournament was held at the Broken Bow Country Club on June 28, 2022. 34 kids participated in the tournament, the culmination of Jr. Golf Camp which was held throughout the month of June. First and second places were awarded in 8 categories: Boys and Girls Level 2 (6 holes), Boys and Girls Level 3 (6 holes), Boys and Girls Level 4 (9 holes) and Boys and Girls Level 5 (9 holes). A putting contest was also held for each level. Many volunteers make Jr. Golf Camp possible every year-thank you to all who participated and helped!

Judy Kay Hazen, age 76, of Omaha, NE (formerly of Merna, NE) passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022. Life without Judy, her smiles and contagious laughter, will not be the same, but the reassurance that she is free of pain, illness, and restraints, brings comfort to those missing her dearly. Judy dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family and her legacy lives on in those she leaves behind – four loving and spirited children – Roxanne Stowers and two granddaughters, Danielle and Alexandra (Lincoln, NE); Melody Hazen (Chicago, IL); Justin (Christin) Hazen and granddaughter, Mary Grace (Aurora, CO); and Melissa (Monte) Goodwin (Omaha, NE); a sister, Donna (Darrel) Sybrant (Broken Bow, NE), and many dear family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Herzel and Evelyn (Smith) Thompson, and brother Charlie (Ruth) Thompson.

Broken Bow Seniors Improve to 14-9 with Wins Over Holdrege

Recent high school graduates of this year's Broken Bow senior legion baseball team being honored before Wednesday's game. The Broken Bow American Legion seniors baseball team improved to 14-9 on the season with two wins over Holdrege Wednesday night at Paul Brown Field. The first game was the finish of a game that was suspended earlier in the season due to rain. The game resumed in the 6th inning with Broken Bow leading 3-1. Bow scored two runs in the top of the 7th inning which proved to be big as Bow extended their lead to 5-1. Holdrege started the bottom of the 7th inning by loading the bases and scored two runs to make the score 5-3. With runners on 2nd and 3rd with nobody out, Hagen Campbell was able to pitch out of trouble getting a strikeout followed by a runner thrown out at home and a ground out to third to preserve the win.
