On May 19, 2022, at approximately 11:00 pm, Anne Arundel County Police officers responded to a carjacking report in the 8000 block of Telegraph Road in Severn. As the victim pulled into his driveway, four suspects approached wearing ski masks and all dark clothing. At least two suspects were armed with handguns; they banged on the victim’s vehicle and ordered him to get out of the car.

Rabid Fox Found In Severna Park, Health Department Says

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A rabid Red Fox has been found near a residential community in Severna Park, and officials are looking for any residents who may have come into contact with the animal, the Anne Arundel County Health Department said. The fox was found on May 18 near the Chatham Hills Community and tested positive for rabies, the agency said. Anyone who may have come into contact with the fox near the intersection of Blackshire Road and Manning Court is asked to contact the health department by calling 410-222-7254 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 443-481-3140 after business hours. Infected animals can spread rabies with a bite or a scratch, or through their saliva if it gets into another animal’s eyes, nose, mouth or open cut. Rabies is potentially fatal but can be treated with injections.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department continues to seek answers following the shooting death of a Crofton area McDonald's employee. On May 13, 2022, at approximately 4:45 a.m., officers responded for a report of gunshots fired at the McDonald's restaurant located at 1130 Crain Highway South in Gambrills, according to a police department press release. Department officials said that upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased male with an apparent gunshot wound(s) to his body.

Annapolis Woman Arrested, Released on Bond Following Attack of Young Girl Near Brooklyn

A woman from Annapolis was recently arrested and later released on bail in connection with the alleged assault of a young girl in the Brooklyn Park area. The Anne Arundel County Police Department said that on May 10, 2022, at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers responded to the 5000 block of Ritchie Highway for an assault that had just occurred. According to authorities, the victims stated they were walking down the street when an unknown woman assaulted the juvenile victim. According to department officials, the suspect put the victim in a chokehold, slammed her against a wall, and began strangling her.
