As I continued my travels through Kansas, I always wanted to stop in Wichita. The city is beautiful and is one of the largest metropolitan areas in Kansas. There is so much to see and do here, and of course the food will keep you coming back. It seems like everywhere you visit will have their own unique way for grilling. You won't find the same type of barbecue in every city, and that's one of the things that make tasting new barbecue great.

Wichita’s local food scene took a few hits this weekend. To kick things off, Magic Wok celebrated their last day of business on Saturday, June 25. The Chinese restaurant at 9504 W. Central closed after 41 years in business. This closing has been in the works for a while and not sudden, but still a tough loss for our dining scene.

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Wichita police say a lack of cooperation is hindering their investigation into an early-morning shooting that wounded two men. Officers responded at around 3:45 a.m. Monday to a shooting call at the QuikTrip at Hydraulic and Wassall, where they located a 33-year-old man and a 39-year-old man with gunshot wounds. Both were hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The QuikTrip was closed for several hours.

Around 3:47 a.m. Monday morning, officers were dispatched to the Quick Trip located in the 2800 block of South Hydraulic for a shooting call. they arrived to find the two men with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
