HOULTON, Maine (WAGM) -Many have gathered in the town of Houlton for the annual parade and Agricultural Fair to celebrate the 4th of July. Thousands of people gathered in the streets of Houlton at 10 A.M. to laugh and enjoy the parade. Cameron Clark, who rode his 10-foot unicycle in the parade, says that being a part of this parade has always been a tradition.

The long holiday weekend has made it hard to get back into the work groove. There were several fireworks displays and parades around Aroostook County on Sunday and Monday. of July parade in Houlton, took place on a beautiful summer morning. Houlton, Maine (WAGM) - The 2022 mud run is back in Houlton after several years. Many drivers came out to participate and see all their hard work culminate in the mud pit. Jordan Violette: " I got together with the fair board and assisted them with doing the mud runs for the Houlton fair. We have trucks from all over the state and out of state that came up here where we race all over the state of Maine down in the Augusta area, Livermore, Steuben, Pinebrook mudders. Its nice to come up here and they return the favor and support the sport up here as well”.

In over 60 years of fishing in Maine, a bunch of other states and half a dozen countries, until last summer I’d never been in a fishing tournament. It was all the fun of a regular outing plus the excitement and challenge of perhaps boating a fish that might qualify for a prize. To top it all off, after the weigh-in all the competitors were treated to a huge fresh fish fry and a wide variety of delicious dishes.

The fair season rolls on in Maine with the Houlton Fair on July 2nd–4th. The first Houlton Fair was held in 1847, and the fair was granted state fair recognition by the Maine Department of Agriculture in the 1980s. HOULTON, Maine — The Maine State Police Troop F barracks in Houlton responded to a number of calls for service during the period of June 6-12, including the following. PORTAGE LAKE — Tr. Curtin took a report of a burglary in the town of Portage Lake. The homeowner reported that while in the process of moving, someone entered her home and took things from the home while she was out of town. The investigation is active and ongoing.
