SAVANNAH, GA – A Coffee County man has been sentenced to more than a decade in federal prison after admitting he shared images of child sexual exploitation. Clarence Eugene Barr, 33, of Broxton, Ga., was sentenced to 150 months in prison after pleading guilty to Distribution of Child Pornography, said David H. Estes, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia. U.S. District Court Judge R. Irwin man arrested on drug & weapon charges

OCILLA, GA – On Tuesday, May 3, 2022, the GBI Southwestern Regional Drug Enforcement Office, Southcentral Drug Task Force, Irwin County Sheriff’s Office, and the Georgia Department of Corrections conducted a joint investigation into the actions of Reginald Eugene Ford, age 48, of Ocilla, GA. Ford was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

Tara Grinstead case: Testimony focuses on payphone call, glove, media attention

Investigators had two key pieces of evidence when South Georgia teacher Tara Grinstead disappeared in 2005. There was a call from a payphone just blocks away from Grinstead’s home. And there was a latex glove found in the front yard of the home, a now-retired GBI agent testified Wednesday. The GBI didn’t plan to release those details to the public, Gary Rothwell said from the witness stand.
