Two Bowling Green men arrested following drug overdose case

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Two men were arrested Monday after officials executed a search warrant following an overdose incident. On Sunday, June 3 at 11:35 p.m., the WCSO responded to Claypool-Boyce Road for a 20-year-old female that was in cardiac arrest. According to authorities, deputies arrived on scene and found three patients that had overdosed and were in cardiac arrest.

Where to see fireworks for Fourth of July

If you still haven’t made plans on where to watch fireworks, several places will be holding celebrations tonight!. In Warren County, you can visit the Bowling Green Ballpark for a Hot Rods game. Gates opened at 5 p.m., and the first pitch starts at 6:35 p.m. After players clear the field, you can catch fireworks for the Fourth of July Spectacular.

Kentuckian competing in Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest

Today at noon, Joey Chestnut will chase his 15th Mustard Belt in the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest. Among the 15 competitors trying to stop him will be Bowling Green’s own Bartley Weaver. The Kentucky Wesleyan graduate turned state trooper, professional bodybuilder, and competitive eater is the first Kentuckian to compete at the annual event at Coney Island since it began in 1916 (if you don’t count Chestnut, who was born in Fulton County, Ky. but lives in Indiana). Weaver was also featured on NBC’s reality show The Titan Games with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and served as the “The Titan Man” mascot for the Tennessee Titans.

Cristian Conyer, elite DB out of Kentucky, announces commitment between border rivals

Cristian Conyer, a 3-star cornerback out of Bowling Green, Kentucky (South Warren), announced a commitment to play in the SEC on Sunday. Conyer wrote on social media that he has committed to Tennessee, after he was recruited by Willie Martinez and Brian Jean-Mary. Conyer is listed at 6-foot-1 1/2 and 170 pounds, the No. 4 recruit in the state of Kentucky, and the No. 56 cornerback in the class of 2023, according to the 247Sports Composite.
