CHARLESTON — A Kanawha County woman is suing Planet Fitness after she claims she was injured while she was exercising. Courtney Mathes was at Planet Fitness on April 9, 2019, and was exercising in the gym when she went to use the pull-up bar and was injured when she fell, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Free rabies clinic for pets offered Thursday

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A free rabies clinic for dogs and cats will be offered Thursday at Patrick Street Plaza in Charleston, according to a release from the city. It will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1701 4th Ave, with 100 rabies shots available. The event is a collaboration between the city and Fix Charleston.

SOUTH CHARLESTON — New regulations making it unlawful to take or possess most native reptiles and amphibians for any reason are now in effect in West Virginia. “Reptiles and amphibians are a valuable wildlife resource and unfortunately we’ve had several large poaching cases involving these animals,” said Kevin Oxenrider, amphibian and reptile program leader for the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources.
