New liquor licenses issued in Jackson

The Jackson Town Council awarded two Bar and Grill liquor licenses and one retail license on Monday. The Retail license was granted to the Pearl Street Market and the two available Bar & Grill licenses were issued to Coelette restaurant on King Street and to The Rusty Parrot Lodge on Jackson Street.

Lower Valley Energy customers were without power for a short time on Tuesday, August 16 after a single vehicle accident knocked down a power line. Muddy String Road Crash claims life of Star Valley Ranch Man

A Star Valley Ranch man lost his life in a single vehicle crash on County Road 117 (Muddy String Road) east of Thayne on Monday, August 8. Captain Brian Andrews with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said the 911 call came in at about 11:49 p.m. Sheriff’s Deputies along with Wyoming Highway Patrol, Star Valley EMS and Thayne Fire Department were all dispatched. Two pedestrians killed while crossing Highway 89 in Thayne

Two pedestrians were struck and killed while crossing Highway 89 in Thayne Friday evening. The incident occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. on August 12. The responding officer with the Wyoming Highway Patrol told SVI News that the two men left Dad’s Bar and attempted to cross the highway. An oncoming vehicle struck the two men, one of which was killed on impact. An off duty EMT was near the location and provided CPR to the second pedestrian. However, he was also later pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
