Woman dead after a rollover crash on I-580 in Carson City (Carson City, NV)

On early Friday morning, a woman lost her life following a rollover crash in Carson City. As per the initial information, the fatal car accident was reported at about 1:45 a.m. on I-580 at Bellevue Road. The preliminary reports showed that a white Honda Civic was heading southbound on Interstate 580 when it flipped into the northbound lanes. The female driver was ejected from the car as she was not buckled up at the time of the accident.

Highway 50 Back Open, I-80 Still Closed In Sierra Ahead Of July 4 Weekend

KYBURZ (CBS13) – Drivers heading up to Lake Tahoe dealt with significant traffic incidents on both Interstate 80 and Highway 50 Friday. Scene of the fire. (Credit: CHP Placerville) On Highway 50, a big rig caught fire a little after 11:30 a.m. just east of Kyburz. Exactly what led up to the big rig catching fire is unclear, but the flames spread to the vegetation along the shoulder. Highway 50 was shut down for a time in both directions but has since fully reopened. On I-80, Caltrans says a vehicle fire near Colfax has shut down all westbound lanes. One eastbound lane was also closed down so emergency vehicles could stage. Traffic is currently being diverted off Rollins Lake Road. Authorities say drivers heading up both freeways should expect delays.

TAHOE CITY, CALIF. — Unfavorable weather has forced postponement of the holiday weekend drone light shows at Kings Beach and Tahoe City, officials announced Friday. The National Weather Service is forecasting wind gusts at flight levels to be significantly higher than allowable limits for the drones to safely fly over Lake Tahoe, said a press release.

Truckee-Carson Irrigation District water right holders gave an emphatic go-ahead for the project to line a portion of the TCID canal through Fernley. Water users within the TCID voted 1,886 in favor against 168 opposed to affirm the $35 million repayment contract between TCID and the Bureau of Reclamation for the Truckee Canal Extraordinary Maintenance project scheduled to begin construction in October, and the authorize shutting down the canal during the one-year construction project.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance with locating Isaiah Able, who is a missing/wanted person, according to a news release from CCSO. Able does not have any medical problems and is not considered at-risk. He has an active arrest warrant for probation violation, according to the release.
