CSI pounds 11 hits in rout of Salt Lake

The College of Southern Idaho baseball team struck early, including a 3-run HR by Morgan Albrecht, and the Golden Eagles rolled past the College of Southern Nevada. Kimberly boys and girls, plus Declo's girls and Valley's boys all won district team championships this week. Ella Zacarias wins 2A district title.

Governor Little awards grants to 3 Magic Valley cities

BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Idaho governor Brad Little has announced grant money to three cities in the Magic Valley to support community development. Little handed out 18 grants in total to various cities around Idaho. In our area, the cities of Hagerman, Shoshone, and Oakley will all receive grants, as well as the city of Glenns Ferry.

Burley Trap Team competes at the Southern Idaho Classic Trap Shoot

The Burley Bobcats trap shooting team traveled to Jerome recently where they shot against teams from Twin Falls, Mountain Home, Pocatello, and Cache Valley. The Burley Bobcat Trap Team has 27 students shooting this spring and includes students from Burley High School, Declo High School, and Valley High School. Head Coach Colleen Parkin started the trap team in 2017 and the program has been growing every year. This season the students have the chance to earn a High School Athletic Sports letter if they meet the requirements. The Trap Team gives students the opportunity to participate in a high school sport that is unlike any other. Safety is paramount and every competitor must adhere to strict safety standards that are reviewed prior to every practice or competitive shoot.

Bobby Joe (Bob) Anderson

Bobby Joe (Bob) Anderson, of Oakley, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 16, 2022. Bob has resided in Oakley for most of his life. He was born on July 19, 1934, in Preston, Missouri to Jake and Cela Anderson. He was the 7th child, of five brothers and three sisters. He completed his education in Missouri and then traveled to Idaho with a couple of close friends in the 1950’s. Upon arrival in Idaho, Bob met Ann Martin and they were married and sealed together in the Salt Lake (LDS) Temple on April 11, 1957. They settled down in Oakley, Idaho to start a family that consisted of four boys.

Declo hires new wrestling coach

DECLO, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Declo High School has a new wrestling coach who is well known in the community. Justin Horsely has taken over the position, following the retirement of Ty Matthews. Horsely has been the middle school coach the past two years and will continue in that role next year.
