Motorcyclist dies after fleeing from police on Route 33, cops say

A motorcyclist crashed and died Friday evening after speeding away from police when they attempted to stop him for traffic violations, authorities said. Brandon Perry, 26, of Saylorsburg, immediately accelerated on a black-and-green Yamaha R1 sport bike away from the attempted traffic stop by Pennsylvania State Police shortly before 6 p.m., according to a news release issued by state police at Stroudsburg.

Faulkner Automotive Group issues statement on tornado damage

On Thursday evening, just after 7 p.m., an EF-3 tornado with peak winds of 140 mph ripped through Bensalem Township’s Trevose section. The massive funnel cut a trail of devastation as it destroyed homes and businesses, including several buildings of Faulkner Automotive Group in Trevose, just north of the intersection of Street Road and Old Lincoln Highway. It also damaged or flattened several residences in a nearby mobile home park. Six injuries were reported as of Friday, and no lives were lost. Uninsured damages appeared to be minimal.

Cops Find Car That May Belong to Woman Missing for 3 Weeks

Investigators say they may have found a car belonging to a Bucks County woman who disappeared three weeks ago in Philadelphia. Cassandra Johnston, 26, was last seen at about 5:30 a.m. on July 10, when she left a friend’s home near Philadelphia’s Chinatown neighborhood, as CrimeOnline previously reported. Police reportedly found her phone near her friend’s home — but she had reportedly lost while out with her friend — and released surveillance footage of her car, a gray 2016 Ford Focus, approaching Interstate 95 about 6 a.m. that day.

(BETHLEHEM, PA) Depending on where you fill up in Bethlehem, you could be saving up to $0.84 per gallon on gas. On Saturday the cheapest gallon of unleaded regular in the area was at SNK Fuels at 1402 S 4Th St. Regular there was listed at $2.85 per gallon Wednesday, compared to $3.69 at Airport Garage at 3220 Airport Rd, which GasBuddy clocked as the most expensive station in the area.

The National Weather Service is continuing to assess an outbreak of seven tornados confirmed Thursday across eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The most powerful of those recorded was an EF3, toward the upper range of the Enhanced Fujita Scale used to gauge tornados’ destructive power, the weather service says from its Philadelphia region forecast office in Mount Holly, New Jersey. It struck the Bensalem/Trevose area in Bucks County, with peak winds of up to 140 mph, leaving behind its most intense destruction at car dealerships and an adjacent mobile home park. At least five people were injured.
