Three man indicted by federal grand jury on firearms offenses

Three men, two from Hopkinsville and a third formerly of Christian County, have been indicted by a federal grand jury with firearms related offenses. According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney of the Western District of Kentucky’s Office, 43-year-old Shaun Powers of Hopkinsville was indicted for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, illegal possession of a machine gun, and possession of an unregistered firearm, that is, a weapon made from a shotgun having a barrel length of less than 18 inches.

College Street Murder Suspect Enters Plea To Lesser Charge

A Christian County woman charged in the shooting death of a Hopkinsville man on College Street in April of 2021 has accepted a plea deal in the case. Kachelle Isbell and public defender Doug Moore appeared before Christian Circuit Court Judge Andrew Self Friday afternoon where she entered a guilty plea to an amended charge of second-degree manslaughter.

Federal grand jury in Paducah indicts three men on gun offenses

According to the indictments, a federal grand jury in Paducah returned three indictments in May, charging three men with firearm offenses. The grand jury indicted 43-yer-old Shaun Powers of Hopkinsville on charges of illegal possession of a machine gun, 30-year-old Cleve Nedd, Jr. of Hopkinsville, charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and 22-year-old Anthony Jones of Indianapolis, Indiana, on charges of engaging in the business of dealing firearms and illegal possession of a machine gun.

HPD stops burglary in progress, arrest made

Hopkinsville police stopped a burglary in progress Thursday night on Kaile Lane and arrested a suspect. Neighbors called ECC after seeing a flashlight inside a vacant home in the 700 block of Kaile about 11 p.m. and an HPD report says the suspect refused to come out after several announcements by a K9 team.

Clarksville man arrested on vehicular homicide charge

Clarksville police have made an arrest in connection with a fatal crash from earlier this month on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. It happened June 16 in front of Applebees and Clarksville police say there is evidence that 38-year-old Justin Walker of Clarksville was traveling at an excessive speed when he collided with the passenger side of another vehicle at the intersection of Fair Brook Place.

FRANKLIN, Ky. – Further details have been released regarding an arrest Tuesday after authorities located roughly seven pounds of cocaine. The South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force says that after a multi-agency investigation that included the U.S. Postal Service, authorities arrested 34 -year-old Kevin Gardner for possession of three kilos, or seven pounds, of cocaine.

Hopkinsville Man Charged With Kailie Lane Burglary

A Hopkinsville man was charged after a report of a burglary in progress on Kailie Lane in Hopkinsville Thursday night. Hopkinsville Police say they received a report of a light seen inside of a vacant home and when they arrived they could also see the light moving around. After a search with a law enforcement K9, 30-year-old Scott Schobeloch was located hiding in a closet. Police say Schobeloch had also called his mother and told her he was going to jail before he was located inside the home.
