Suspect, others injured after trying to flee police in Covington

COVINGTON, Va. (WDBJ) - Multiple people suffered minor injuries late Monday night after a suspect wanted for a hit and run in Fauquier County attempted to elude police. According to the City of Covington Police, they, along with deputies from the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police troopers, responded to the corner of S. Monroe Avenue and Route 220. After trying to identify the two people in the vehicle for a handful of minutes as they refused to cooperate, authorities determined the passenger was wanted.
