GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (WOWT) - A man was arrested after law enforcement says he tried to meet with a 14-year-old girl for a sexual encounter. According to the Nebraska State Patrol, 22-year-old Hector Tercero of Roca was arrested Monday. NSP says he used social media to talk with and arrange to meet what he believed to be a 14-year-old girl.

On Monday, investigators arrested Hector Tercero, 22, of Roca. Tercero had used social media to arrange a meeting for a sexual encounter with what he believed was a 14-year-old girl. He had actually contacted an NSP investigator posing as the girl.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nearly $400,000 worth of beef is missing after a slew of semi thefts that began last week. On Sunday, A Grand Island man reported that his semi was stolen on Friday. He told police that the GPS in his truck indicated that the truck was southwest of Lincoln near the intersection of 100th Street and Highway 33.
Acting United States Attorney Steven Russell announced that Vallen Bateman, 36, of Hastings, Nebraska, was sentenced on June 24, 2022, in federal court in Omaha, Nebraska, for possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. sentenced Bateman to 66 months’ imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system. After her release from prison, she will begin a five-year term of supervised release.
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Three semi-trailers full of meat products were stolen this weekend in Grand Island and the thefts may be part of a nationwide trend. “It does not look like it was possible for a single person to conduct these thefts. Most likely it was a minimum of two people or more and then on top of that we have a similar thefts of meat products in other areas such as Colfax County and Omaha over the past several weeks that are probably related,” Grand Island Police Captain Jim Duering said.
Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of semi tractors, trailers and missing boxed beef. A Grand Island man called LSO Sunday to report his semi tractor and trailer was stolen from Grand Island sometime after Friday, June 24th and Saturday, June 25th. Deputies recovered the semi and turned it over to the owner. There was no sign of a missing trailer.
LINCOLN–(KFOR June 28)–In what may be part of a nationwide trend, authorities say two semi-trucks and a trailer meant for pickup were stolen this past weekend. Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner says a Grand Island man reported on Monday that one of his semis and a trailer were taken during a theft that happened sometime between Friday and Saturday. Three semitrucks were taken from that Grand Island location, but thanks to GPS in one semi, it was found about 90 miles east, near SW 100th and Highway 33 in southwestern Lancaster County. The GPS showed the truck was at Shoemaker’s Truck Stop at SW 48th and West “O” Street between 4:24am and 4:40am Saturday. While the truck was recovered and turned back over to the owner, there was no trailer to be found.

At approximately 8:20 p.m. Thursday, June 16, a trooper observed a Chevrolet Impala traveling at 90 miles per hour on Interstate 80 near mile marker 318. The trooper attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to yield. The trooper initiated a pursuit.
