The 2021-2022 school year will be a little more like years past- as least as compared to last year's that was dominated by the coronavirus pandemic. Below you'll find every school system in North Alabama (as well as Fayetteville and Lincoln County in Tennessee) and their start dates. Alabama junior qualifies for U.S Amateur

A University of Alabama golfer is one of the three most recent amateurs to qualify for the 2021 U.S. Amateur. Canon Claycomb secured his spot after playing at the Bowling Green Country Club in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where he also set the official course record in the first round with a score of 61, or 11 under par.

Alabama State University Receives $763,600 from Public School and College Authority (PSCA) Bond

Governor Kay Ivey on Friday announced the remaining $23,522,354.17 of the Public School and College Authority (PSCA) bond issue to five entities around the state. “I’m pleased to announce the more than $23.5 million to worthy infrastructural projects and upgrades to our educational facilities,” Governor Ivey said. “These remaining PSCA funds will make needed improvements to our public educational facilities, which will have a lasting impact on future generations of Alabamians. I am extremely grateful to Alabama’s retiring Finance Director Kelly Butler for his diligence on this project to ensure we are investing wisely in meaningful education and workforce efforts.”
