Alabama swimmer gets Olympic silver medal

After just missing on medals twice earlier at the Tokyo Olympics, Alabama swimmer Rhyan White earned a silver medal on Sunday. Australia won the women’s 4-by-100 medley relay as Cate Campbell overcame a 0.25-second deficit to the United States when she started the freestyle leg to bring home a gold medal in an Olympic record time of 3 minutes, 51.60 seconds.

Madison County Sheriff’s Office searching for inmate released prematurely

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in a search for an inmate who was released from jail prematurely on Saturday. Darren Jermaine Chipman, 31, of Huntsville, was being held pending extradition to Georgia. He posed as another inmate and used that inmate’s information in order to be released, according to a Facebook post on the Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page. According to the Sheriff’s Department, Chipman has two warrants in Gwinnett County, Georgia related to a robbery offense and failure to register as a sex offender.
