The Vocalist, hosted by SVI Media, is excited to hold the first annual music festival this Saturday in Thayne. The festival is free to attend and begins at 2:00 in the afternoon and will continue through the evening. The Vocalist Music Festival will be held at the Thayne Town Park on the lawn behind the community center. In addition to the live music, The Vocalist runner-up Keishianna Peterson will take the stage. Peterson features a powerful, soulful voice that has attracted the attention of the local region and over 34,000 followers on TikTok.

Star Valley Ranch and Thayne have been working together to formalize the Mid Valley Fire District to encompass Thayne to Etna. Last week’s town council meetings had different outcomes, however. Thayne approved the contract to allow Mid Valley Fire to take over their fire protection, but Star Valley Ranch’s council did not.

The Rock Church Summer Theater play in Auburn will be held each Friday and Saturday next month starting this Friday July 1st at 7:30 PM with doors opening at 7. Traci Sellers is the playwright and she says the play will incorporate Star Valley history as it always does with some stories she learned from her mother-in-law.

A Star Valley Ranch resident has been arrested and charged for the property damage that has occurred on several occasions at the Thayne Rest Stop. Lincoln County Attorney Spencer Allred said Joshua T. Beaudette, 35, was taken into custody on Wednesday, June 22. Beaudette has been charged with two felony counts and one misdemeanor count of property destruction. He has been scheduled for an initial appearance in Circuit Court on June 23.

The quake happened at 10:22 a.m. eight miles north northwest of Georgetown, according to data from the U.S Geological Survey website. Georgetown is a farming community of about 600 residents. Afton Food Pantry accepted a donation of $1633.49 from the Feeding the Hungry Food Drive through Broulim’s in partnership with Associated Foods and other corporate food manufacturers.
