Roaring Springs Waterpark reopens this weekend

MERIDIAN, Idaho (CBS2) — Roaring Springs Waterpark is set to reopen for the 2022 season on Saturday at 11 a.m. With heated water and good weather, Roaring Springs is hoping to usher in summer with some great pool time fun. The park is set to be open on weekends for the next two weeks, then seven days a week starting Memorial Day.

Show at Palace Theater in Spur marks return of live entertainment

The Palace Theater in Spur will host live entertainment once again. Tumbleweed Smith, the radio host of the popular "Sounds of Texas" program, will headline the season's first event on May 14. The show starts at 7 p.m. Pianist Lucy Dean Record of Lockney is set to perform as well as vocalist DeAnne Roberts of Dickens. Record and Roberts will also be interviewed by Smith during the event. Admission is $20 per ticket, which admits two, and includes a free wine tasting at the door at The Texas Spur building (for those 21 and older). That part of the event will begin at 6 p.m. Those interested in learning more can email or visit to make reservations. The event, which will be presented by the Dickens County Historical Commission, is supported by a grant from Humanities Texas.

Organizers expect at least 30 yard sales along Highway 70 Saturday
