Fall River, Providence, New Bedford, Taunton residents among 17 arrested in drug trafficking conspiracy

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – More than a dozen individuals previously convicted on violent crime charges, including firearm, robbery, assault, assault with intent to commit murder, and domestic violence charges, are among seventeen individuals charged in federal court as the result of a five-month FBI Safe Street Task Force, DEA, and Providence Police Narcotics Bureau Project Safe Neighborhoods investigation into a wide-ranging street-level drug trafficking conspiracy. At least nine of the individuals are currently on Rhode Island state probation.

Murder charge against Cranston man is dropped, due to video evidence

PROVIDENCE — A 33-year-old Cranston man breathed more easily under his mask on Thursday after a prosecutor moved to dismiss a charge of first-degree murder against him. In March, Kenneth Hernandez had been charged in the city's third homicide of the year, the shooting death of 32-year-old David Camacho on Julian Street in the Olneyville neighborhood.

Attleboro man faces charges of indecently touching, secretly videotaping teenage girl

ATTLEBORO — A 37-year-old city man is facing charges he indecently touched a teenage girl and later secretly videotaped her taking off her clothes during visits to his home. Joshua W. Gohring pleaded innocent last week in Attleboro District Court to charges of indecent assault and battery, videotaping an unsuspecting person under the age of 18 in the nude, and possession of child pornography.

Suspect in deadly Texas shooting nabbed in New Bedford

Community raises thousands for homeless New Bedford man’s funeral

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) – Thousands of dollars have been raised for the family of a homeless man from New Bedford who died suddenly last week. Chris Mydlack, 45, was found dead at Buttonwood Park last week. North Attleboro firefighters deal with three incidents within half-hour
