One dead in motorcycle crash

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – One person is dead following a motorcycle crash in the city of Nekoosa. “On June 22, 2022 at approximately 10:45 p.m., emergency services responded to a one vehicle, single rider motorcycle crash in the city of Nekoosa,” Nekoosa Police Chief Shawn Woods said in a release.

Mayors Monday: Wisconsin Rapids’ Shane Blaser

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — One week from today the City of Wisconsin Rapids will open its doors for its annual 4th of July celebration. Mayor Shane Blaser says those who plan on attending can expect many of the same features and events from years past. “We have downtown vendors, we’ll have a DJ, the city band, and we’ll have a new group in the area, Rhapsody, that will be signing the National Anthem.”

Rafters float past Rockers

The Green Bay Rockers waited until the ninth inning to reach the scoreboard but it was too late as they dropped the game to the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 7-2. There was no scoring at all until the seventh inning when the Rafters put two on the scoreboard. The Rafters would bat around in the eighth while putting up five runs, highlighted by a three straight bases-loaded walks.

Mequon, Wis – After dropping their first game in the series against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters last night, the Chinooks (12-14) bounced back with a win at home while dishing the Rafters (22-3) their third loss on the season.
