Horse confiscated in animal cruelty case dies

LIND — A horse confiscated from an Adams County man who was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty had to be euthanized Wednesday. The horse, a donkey, two dogs and a cat were taken Saturday from a residence in the 700 block of South Longmeier Road, according to information from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office. Jared Potts, 33, was arrested May 1 and booked into the Adams County Jail on suspicion of three counts of first-degree animal cruelty.

Driver killed on I-90 after heavy steel plate pierces windshield, causes crash

ADAMS COUNTY, Wash. — The Washington State Patrol is looking for witnesses after a deadly crash earlier this month on I-90, east of Ritzville in Adams County. WSP said the driver was headed westbound on I-90 near milepost 229 in a black 2000 Ford pickup truck when a large piece of a heavy steel plate crashed through the front windshield of the truck, hitting the driver.
