Jamie Richard was sworn in on Sunday (June 13) afternoon as the new Adair County Jailer and took office at midnight on Tuesday night. County Judge Executive Gale Cowan conducted the swearing in.

Riddle gets back to ‘normal’ life after Covid battle

Leeann Jessee catches herself occasionally looking across her office at the Adair County Public Library to check on Anita Riddle, the library’s cataloger and circulations specialist. The director of the library is not checking up on whether Riddle is doing her work, she knows that’s not a problem. She just wants to make sure Riddle is okay.

Adair man arrested by RCSO Sunday evening

An Adair County man was arrested by the Russell County Sheriff’s Office Sunday evening. Jordan Wheat, age 25, was arrested and charged with public intoxication of a controlled substance excluding alcohol. Wheat was arrested by Deputy Corey Meyer and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.

Sheriff’s Office Arrests Taylor County Man On Felony Drug Charges

On Saturday, June 5th, 2021 at 2:48 a.m., Adair County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Kenny Perkins initiated a traffic stop on KY 55, approximately 5 miles north of Columbia. As a result of the stop, methamphetamine, a large amount of suspected Spice, a synthetic drug, along with cash were located and seized.

Russell Springs woman involved in wreck on Hwy 80

On Friday, June 4, 2021, at 1:30 p.m., Chief Deputy Brandon Hitch of the Adair County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an injury collision on East Highway 80. Preliminary investigation shows that Mechelle McFarland, 42, of Russell Springs, was traveling west on KY 80 in a 2010 Nissan when she lost control of her vehicle. She over-corrected and the vehicle overturned, coming to rest on its top in the ditch line.
