Atlantic, Cape, Cumberland counties top 476,000 vaccinations

According to state records, 476,542 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland counties as of Monday morning. Around the state, 9,550,612 of the Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines have been administered, according to records. The state has administered 9,192,638 doses, and 357,974 doses have been administered out of state. Additionally, 4,393,519 residents have been fully vaccinated in state and 171,143 have been fully vaccinated out of state for a total of 4,564,662.

June 7-13: Covid Numbers Good; New Danger Threatens. As summer nears, Covid numbers are the best they havebeen since the start of the pandemic. The county is averaging three new cases a day, there were no new fatalities this week, and hospitalizations are at lows not seen in eight months. The county’s vaccination rate slowed in the last month, but incremental progress is being made.

Ribbon cutting signals return of conventions in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY — For city officials, Friday marked a major step in the city’s efforts to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. According to state records, 471,547 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland counties as of Thursday morning. Around the state, 9,407,249 of the Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines have been administered, according to records. The state has administered 9,049,275 doses, and 357,974 doses have been administered out of state. Additionally, 4,294,767 residents have been fully vaccinated in state and 169,955 have been fully vaccinated out of state for a total of 4,464,722.

CMCo: Covid Transmission Not Detected Through Fare Free

COURT HOUSE - The Covid pandemic didn’t stop Fare Free Transportation from completing its mission to assist Cape May County residents. According to a release, while many people worked from home during the initial shut down due to Covid, there were many residents who still required Fare Free Transportation, both in life-sustaining medical trips and for meal delivery to home-bound residents. The medical trips were essential for the most vulnerable, which included kidney dialysis, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.

Wear Masks in School? Districts Decide

COURT HOUSE - Gov. Phil Murphy shifted the responsibility for decisions about mask use indoors at schools to the individual school districts. Citing the potential health hazards of masks in schools impacted by extreme heat, Murphy gave school districts the authority to have students and staff treat masks as optional.
