LUBBOCK, Texas (PRESS RELEASE) — The Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center (GAC) is pleased to host the 33rd Annual National Arts Program in Lubbock from October 22nd through November 22nd, 2022. The annual exhibit features artwork by City of Lubbock employees, family members, volunteers, City of Lubbock retirees and previous Garden & Arts Center exhibitors. Online registration is currently open and will continue until October 7th, 2022. Participants will drop off artwork at the Garden & Arts Center from October 10th – October 14th, 2022 during center hours. Artists can find more information about the exhibit on the Garden & Arts Center website www.lubbockgac.org as well as a link to register online with the National Arts Program.

Lubbock Symphony Orchestra to kick off Masterworks Series with Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet

The Lubbock Symphony Orchestra is kicking off its 2022-23 Masterworks Series with a program of timeless romantic masterpieces Friday night at Buddy Holly Hall. The program, titled "Romeo & Juliet: A Timeless Romance," includes Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet Suite, Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto featuring guest violin soloist Benjamin Beilman, and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4.

Rotarians hear from photographer Don Dickson

The Rotary Club of Plainview continued to celebrate their September anniversaries. Brandon Ahrens 12 years, Dr. Jason Geesey 2 years, Janice Payne 33 years, Jason Stehlik 5 years, and Beverly Wall 14 years for a total of 66 years of service.  Plainview Rotarians held their weekly meeting this past Tuesdayand recognized their guests.  Once again Caleb Haines Rotary’ Student of the Month for September attended the meeting.  This time he brought his mom and dad, Mike and Brandy Haines.In addition, Dr. Georgia Mitchell and Charlcey Dickson attended as guests.   The club was excited to induct Dr. Georgia Mitchell as a new member.
