Meerkat found dead in collapsed tunnel at Florida zoo

MIAMI, Fla. – A nearly 8-year-old meerkat was found dead in a collapsed tunnel at the Zoo Miami on Sunday. Zoo officials said they were unable to find the meerkat, named Gizmo, during initial rounds on Sunday morning. After they meticulously searched the habitat, they found Gizmo’s body in a collapsed tunnel.
