HAMILTON TOWNSHIP — The Group 3 state championship game at Bob DeMeo Field at Veterans Park between Ocean City and Pascack Valley took nearly four hours on Sunday afternoon in 90-plus degree heat and humidity. It took 14 innings. Three of the five pitchers used by both teams didn’t factor into the decision, and all three toss more than 80 pitches. Do or Die for Sixers Friday Night!

Our Philadelphia 76ers play a huge game Friday in Atlanta against the Trae Young led Hawks. A basketball team that has taken advantage of the Sixers deficiencies and overcome double digit deficits to take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series. Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris and Joel Embiid are the big three stars of the 76ers have failed in the fourth quarter in back-to-back games to put away the Hawks by missing foul shots, dunks and not playing smart basketball. It's very frustrating to watch the Sixers take a commanding lead only to give it away! For the Sixers to lose the way they have dropped the last two games in heartbreaking fashion might be too much of a mountain to climb and overcome. Frustration, confidence, blame and character will all play a pivotal role in the outcome of Friday Night's Game 6 in Atlanta which you can listen to at 730pm with Tom McGinnis on the call on 973 ESPN Atlantic City.

Sixers Need Confidence from Harris and Simmons to Win Series

After coughing up back-to-back double-digit leads, instead of closing the series out with the Atlanta Hawks, the Sixers are on the brink of elimination. The team had leads as big as 18 on Monday and 26 on Wednesday night, but could not close the deal. However the team can put that behind them with a win tonight in Atlanta and to bring this series back to Philadelphia on Sunday.

Lack of Shot Creation Dooming Sixers Yet Again

There’s plenty of blame to go around for the Sixers’ epic collapse Wednesday night. Ben Simmons will rightfully receive a lot of it. His abysmal free throw shooting and lack of involvement on offense late in games have doomed his team. Doc Rivers’ refusal to stagger lineups and continuing to incorporate a mostly bench unit has led to big Hawks’ runs. Tobias Harris, who signed the richest contract in franchise history, has been invisible for six straight quarters.
