Neal Schon Confirms Deen Castronovo Is Back in Journey

Journey guitarist Neal Schon has confirmed on social media that former drummer Deen Castronovo has rejoined the band. Schon confirmed Castronovo's return in a series of Facebook comments below a San Francisco Chronicle story about Journey, which he shared on Wednesday. One fan commented on the post, "So is Deen Castronovo back in the band full time now?" to which Schon responded simply, "Yes."

Watch Neil Peart’s Final Recorded Drum Solo in Rush Film Teaser

Rush will screen a director's cut of their 2019 concert film, Cinema Strangiato, for a one-night-only event on Sept. 9. The movie — which documents the band's final tour, 2015's R40 Live — features interviews with musician fans (including Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan and Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello), along with previously unseen backstage and soundcheck footage. The new cut will offer an adjusted set list, including previously unseen versions of "One Little Victory," "Red Barchetta" and "Cygnus X-1" / "The Story So Far," the latter presenting the final recorded drum solo of late drummer Neil Peart.

Disney Parks To Require Face Masks Again as COVID Cases Surge

Walt Disney World and Disneyland will once again require face masks in certain areas of the parks as COVID-19 cases continue to increase throughout the country. According to Orlando Sentinel, Orange County, Florida is averaging 1,000 new coronavirus cases daily. Local hospital AdventHealth's ICU is full due to the rise in cases. Meanwhile, in California, the Delta Variant has become the state's dominant strain.

Exodus Drummer Clarifies ‘Cancer-Free’ Notion, Still Progressing

UPDATE: Gary Holt has relayed another message from Tom Hunting and admitted to jumping the gun when declaring the Exodus drummer "cancer-free." Hunting said it was "presumptuous" but he hopes to soon make that definitive statement following further treatment in the wake of his successful full gastrectomy surgical procedure. ZZ Top Bassist Dusty Hill Dead at 72

ZZ Top bassist and vocalist Dusty Hill, who played with the blues-rock trio for more than 50 years, died Tuesday night at the age of 72. Surviving ZZ Top members, singer and guitarist Billy Gibbons and drummer Frank Beard, confirmed Hill’s death and paid tribute to the bassist in a brief statement on Wednesday.

‘Jeopardy!’ Contestant Sets New Record For Lowest Score Ever

Patrick Pearce, a product specialist from Fountain Valley, California, fulfilled the dream of many TV fans this week, when he appeared as a contestant on Jeopardy! Pearce also got to appear on one of the episodes featuring guest host LeVar Burton, who was among the most-requested names by fans to do a stint standing in for the late Alex Trebek on this season of Jeopardy!
