Another Deadly Minnesota Motorcycle Accident

Shorewood, MN (KROC AM News) - Another Minnesota motorcyclist has been killed. The latest victim was killed around 6:00 pm Tuesday in the Twin Cities suburb of Shorewood. The State Patrol report on the fatal accident says 20-year-old Parker Nelson of Wayzata was approaching an intersection when a small SUV pulled in front of him and his motorcycle hit the driver’s side of the vehicle.

A Rochester, Minnesota, business landmark has been sold for over $20 Million. Sold to Glen Una Management Company, from San Francisco, the Barlow Plaza, along Civic Center Drive, is 40 years old and once was anchored by Barlow Foods (We do food right, Barlows...). Glen Una owns a ton of real estate, most of it grocery store shopping centers in big cities. like Chicago and Dallas.

Evidentiary Hearings Ordered For Rochester Murder Suspects

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The two men charged with a recent fatal shooting in downtown Rochester were in court today. 28-year-old Derrick Days faces three counts of second-degree murder, while 22-year-old Nautica Cox faces aiding and abetting second-degree murder charges. In addition, both men are facing charges for illegal possession of a firearm. Neither man entered pleas to the charges today and both are scheduled to return to court on July 20th for evidentiary hearings.

Fatal Vehicle-Bike Crash Near West Edge of Rochester

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office is reporting a fatal crash just west of Rochester. Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns says the intersection of Country Club Road and 60th Avenue Southwest was reopened around 2:30 PM after it was closed to traffic for the investigation into the crash, which was reported just before 11 AM.

Steven Schmidt has announced plans to step down in September after more than 32 years as the head of the department. A news release indicates Schmidt joined the organization in 1989 after managing the T.B. Sheldon Auditorium Theatre in Red Wing.

Rochester Woman Crashes Into Power Pole; May Have Been Drunk

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester woman was injured after crashing a car into a power pole Monday and she may be facing a DUI charge. The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Samantha Richardson was driving on 45th St SE near the Gamehaven Park around 4:30 pm when her car swerved off the road and hit the pole.

Iowa Woman Injured In Fillmore County Traffic Crash

Harmony, MN (KROC AM News) - An Iowa woman was injured in a two-vehicle traffic wreck in Fillmore County Monday. She was identified as 52-year-old Teresa Boughey of Dubuque. The State Patrol says she was a passenger in a car driven by 50-year-old Michael Garrett, also from Dubuque. He was not hurt. Boughey’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Northbound Highway 63 Will Be Detoured In Spring Valley Starting Tuesday

Spring Valley, MN (KROC-AM News) - Motorists traveling northbound on Highway 63 will be detoured from June 22nd to July 2nd in Spring Valley for water service work. According to a news release from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, northbound Highway 63 traffic will be detoured south of the Highway 63 and Highway 16 intersection while a contractor installs a new water service at a business.

Stewartville Truck Driver Involved in Traffic Fatality

St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Stewartville man was behind the wheel of a semi-truck involved in a deadly incident on a Twin Cities freeway Monday afternoon. The State Patrol says 47-year-old Uhlir Christopher was driving the truck south on Highway 52 just south of the Concord Street interchange in St. Paul when a pedestrian stepped into the path of the semi just before 3 PM. The pedestrian was then hit by the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wabasha County Drowning Victim Was From Pine Island

Theilman, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Wabasha County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim of a recent drowning. A news release says a search was launched last Friday afternoon after it was reported that a woman had gone missing in the Zumbro River near Theilman. Wabasha County Chief Deputy Jim Warren says the victim was 57-year-old Lynn Marie Ness of Pine Island.

Trial Date Set for Lawsuit Over New Downtown Rochester Parking Ramp

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A trial date has been set for a lawsuit over the city's newest downtown Rochester parking ramp. The case pitting the city against the firm hired to design the $31 million facility is currently scheduled for trial in the third week of August next year. The city filed the lawsuit against the Collaborative Design Group in March over issues that have, so far prevented, the construction of a planned housing development on top of Ramp 6.
