Blount County Sheriff’s Office announced earlier today that the missing man from Clinton County was found deceased. Anthony Chris Haynes, age 58, was last seen in Louisville on Wednesday night. Officials stated his car and personal belongings were found on a private property on Little River near Alcoa Highway.

Funeral Services for Olney Ulysses Rose, age 90, who passed away on August 11, 2022, will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Haley’s Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 AM prior to the service. Montgomery County, TN-Kara Adkins and Robert Adkins were indicted in January 2018 for conspiracy to produce child pornography and other related charges and pleaded guilty in October 2021. On Friday, August 5th, an accident happened in Fentress County in front of the Cumberland General Store. Around 2 PM a Ford Focus was traveling south on Hwy 127 when the driver turned left and struck a Chevy Malibu that was traveling north. The driver of the Ford Focus and the other front seat passenger were taken to the Cumberland Medical for minor injuries. A female, age 44, who was sitting in the backseat was transported for serious injuries. In the back seat of the car were also a baby, less than a year old with no injuries and a two-year-old who had minor injuries.

GRAINGER COUNTY – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is asking for the public’s help in providing information about a homicide that occurred more than 25 years ago. In September 1996, TBI agents were requested to assist the Grainger County Sheriff’s Office in investigating the discovery of human remains that were found by hunters in a wooded area just off Dale Road in the Powder Springs section of Grainger County. Based on evidence found at the scene, the case was ruled a homicide. With assistance from the University of Tennessee Anthropology Department, the remains were determined to be those of a female who was believed to be 30-40 years old. However, investigators could not determine the individual’s identity, and she was listed as a Jane Doe.

Some areas in southern Cumberland County picked up three and a half inches of rain on Wednesday and showers and thunderstorms are likely again on Thursday however a cold front will move through Thursday night and bring in drier air. Rebecca M. “Becky” Thomas, age 46, a resident of the Westel Community, of Rockwood, Tennessee passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022, at her home. She was born November 10, 1975, in Maryville, Tennessee. Becky was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Westel and served as a Forestry Aid 1 with the Tennessee Department of Forestry for over 18 years. She loved being a “Nanny” first and also being a Mother. She had the biggest, loving and caring heart and had “a plethora of adoptive children”. He worked many years as a contractor/carpenter and was of the Baptist faith. He was also a lifelong member of the Lion’s Club. He enjoyed skiing, hunting, traveling and was a huge Nascar fan. Having lived in Louisiana for over 21 years, crawfish boils and LSU and Saints ballgames were a most favorite pastime. People will always fondly remember Surnoff for his cowboy boots and western hat.
