Does Accidentally Hurting Your Kid Make You a Horrible Parent?

As a parent, I don't wish what happened to a Hollywood actress on anyone!. Having kids is hard and when accidents happen as they did to Actress Alexa PenaVega, most of us have a hard time shaking the "parental guilt". PenaVega shared on social media the other day that she accidentally closed her 2-year-old son Kingston's fingers in the hinge of her bathroom door.

Snow Plow Thief Loose in LaGrange, Police Looking for This Suspect

The theft allegedly took place sometime Friday, October 15th. Before we know it snow will be on the ground in the Hudson Valley, most of us are making sure we are ready to go with all of our snow removal equipment. We have our shovels, sand, snowblower "tuned up", gas for the snowblower, snowplows out, and ready to be put on a truck. Lots of preparation, but one suspect decided instead of buying his own equipment, he'd just head out and steal some from a local business.

Yee-Haw! Esteemed Poughkeepsie College Needs a Cowboy

No, this isn't one of the many casting calls across the Hudson Valley. It's no secret, there is no shortage of jobs in and around the Hudson Valley. But if you have experience with animals and are wanting to build your resume this position may be the one you've been waiting for.

New Milford to Welcome a New Bagel Shop in December

Hey bagel lovers, some new boss bagels are coming to town soon. That town is New Milford, and the location is 312 Danbury Road inside the Red Barn. New Milford's new bagel haven will be called the "Bagel Barn," and the new owners are Diane and Mitch Klaif. So when I discovered there would be a new source of bagel deliciousness so close to the I-95 studios, I knew that I must reach out to Diane especially when she informed me all of their bagels will be made on the premises.

10 Hysterically Funny One-Star Reviews of Danbury Fair Mall

There's an old saying that you can't please everyone all the time, and to prove that, I've uncovered some pretty funny bad online reviews of the Danbury Fair Mall. Now let me start off by saying that the Danbury Fair Mall has been a huge part of the Connecticut and New York area since it opened back on October 28, 1986. The mall has been a go-to site for thousands and thousands of people for just about anything they needed which could just about always be found in the almost 190 different stores. It's been a gathering place for young and old alike, and has had its finger on the pulse of the local community since its inception.

If you were looking to chuck your Hudson Valley pumpkin this year in Lake George, you'll have to chuck elsewhere. Adirondack Pub & Brewery in Lake George is known for its annual Pumpkin Chunkin' event where guests can use a pumpkin slingshot or catapult to get rid of those Halloween pumpkins. The event takes place, annually, on the first Saturday after Halloween. Perfect timing for fall clean-up.

Should We Change the Speed Limit on I-84 in Danbury to 90 mph? People Are Going That Fast Anyway

If you are driving on I-84 in Danbury and you are not in traffic, you'll notice people are driving way too fast. Let's back it up a bit, driving on I-84 in Danbury between Exits 2 and 8 going East or West is a disaster. There is traffic, a lot of traffic and that happens often. When there is no traffic, there is a ton of volume with people speeding, driving aggressively and taking chances. Then, you have the people on I-84 who drive too slow and they are as dangerous as anyone out there.

Danbury Ranks Within the 100 Best Places to Live In America

With all the cities and towns in America, it's quite an accomplishment to be recognized as one of the Top 100 places to live. In the latest "Best Places To Live In America" list put out by, there are some major cities around the country listed, so to have Danbury included and placed at number 85 in the Top 100, is a pretty big achievement.

Catskill Man Falls to His Death at Stadium While Watching Popular Band

Tragedy stuck Sunday night on the west coast, as thousands attending a popular bands concert went horribly wrong. Odds are that you have a friend, or someone in your family that are such big fans of certain artists in music that they would do just about anything to see them perform live. Most of us know someone that shows their love for their favorite band or artist by following them all over the world to see them in concert.

There’s a Right & Wrong Way to Stack Wood in the Hudson Valley?

As we all get prepared for another cold and snowy Hudson Valley winter, yes I said it, most of us are starting to get the way we heat our houses figured out. If you haven't been paying attention, oil and gas prices have gotten way out of control once again, so taking another route this year might make the winter "hurt" it causes on the pocket book a little less painful.

Meteor Shower, Full Moon to Shine Over Hudson Valley Tonight

There's nothing spookier than a full moon in October. With that being said, Wednesday's full moon has nothing to do with ghosts or haunted spirits. Sure, it's spooky season but the full moon on Wednesday, October 20th is called The Hunters Moon. NASA explains further writing: "The earliest use of the term "Hunter's Moon" cited in the Oxford English Dictionary is from 1710. According to the Farmer's Almanac, with the leaves falling and the deer fattened, it is time to hunt. Since the harvesters have reaped the fields, hunters can easily see the animals that have come out to glean (and the foxes that have come out to prey on them)."
