Rachel Schneider from Sanford, ME Finishes 7th at Summer Olympics

The Olympic dream has come to an end for Rachel Schneider as she finished seventh in the women's 5000 meter at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Schneider, of Sanford, Maine, ran in the second of two heats on Friday at a time of 15:00.07 ranking her at #17 putting her .52 seconds out of medal competition. The top five finishers in each heat move onto the final on Sunday.

Maine’s Only Water Show is Award Winning and Based in Sanford, Maine. Yes, Sanford

Maine Attraction is the only water-ski show team in Maine. It's a family-oriented organization, and the team has been performing unique, entertaining and wicked skilled water ski shows for over 30 years. They have performed for crowds of all sizes at the Number One Pond in Sanford. It's free, but they do take donations. They don't require them, but they are a non-profit and the donations help with upkeep of equipment and outfits. Maine Attraction puts on an amazing show with traditional and barefoot water skiing, human pyramids, jumps and a whole ton more!

ZZ Top bassist and vocalist Dusty Hill, who played with the blues-rock trio for more than 50 years, died Tuesday night at the age of 72. Surviving ZZ Top members, singer and guitarist Billy Gibbons and drummer Frank Beard, confirmed Hill’s death and paid tribute to the bassist in a brief statement on Wednesday.

Someone Stole $10,000 From a Popular and Generous New Hampshire Band

What started out as a fun and charitable treasure hunt by a well-known local Granite State band turned into an absolute nightmare without any of us knowing. A couple of weeks ago, the well-known and popular New Hampshire-based band Recycled Percussion put on a $10,000 treasure hunt throughout the Granite State. Every couple of days, frontman Justin Spencer dropped clues either through their Chaos & Kindness text club, the Chaos & Kindness social media pages, his personal Instagram or the Recycled Percussion social media pages as to where to find the money.

The City of Portland Blames Food Trucks for Eastern Prom’s Trashy Problem

Garbage cans are overflowing along the Eastern Prom in Portland. Who's to blame?. Food trucks that line the Eastern Prom are getting blamed by Portland for the trash problem. Portland says that litter has been exploding since all the food trucks parked along the busy roadway. Trash cans are overstuffed and litter is falling into the streets and grass. But food trucks, pretty much all in unison, say that it's not them! They bring their own trash cans for customers and they feel like they are getting a bad rap.

Wolfgang Van Halen’s Mammoth WVH Play Debut Concert

Mammoth WVH, the project helmed by Wolfgang Van Halen, played their first concert Tuesday night (July 27) at the Bottleneck Night Club in Lawrence, Kan. The gig was a surprise show, announced just a day before the event. Still, that didn’t stop the concert from quickly selling out, as a capacity crowd turned out to cheer on the budding rock star.
