CHANDLER, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- A suspected DUI driver has been arrested in connection to a late-night crash in Chandler that left one person dead and several others hurt. Jorrell Yazzie, 29, is facing manslaughter and aggravated assault charges, Chandler police said late Monday morning.

Officers were called to an intersection near Dobson and Ray roads around 1:30 a.m. and arrived to find three cars involved in the wreck. Detectives say that Yazzie was driving northbound on Dobson when he crashed into the back of a Chevy Camaro, which spun into the southbound lanes and collided with a Toyota Camry.

The driver of the Camaro, 43-year-old Maurice Owens of Chandler, suffered numerous broken bones and cuts. He was listed in serious condition at a local hospital. However, officers say 68-year-old Chon Tran of Chandler, who was driving the Camry, has since died from her injuries. Police believe speed was a factor in the crash. Court documents revealed that Yazzie had a BAC of .226, according to a blood sample taken. Yazzie was treated for minor injuries and booked into the Gilbert-Chandler Unified jail.
