The driver of the vehicle sustained injuries.
Carroll County, Md. (BW)- One person was killed in a single vehicle accident in Carroll County on Sunday, May 21.
Around 11:30 p.m., a 2018 Mercedes Benz was travelling north on Route 97 when it struck a guardrail on the side of the road, then crossed the southbound lanes and continued off the roadway, striking an embankment south of Old Hanover Road.
The passenger, 37-year-old Antonio Jhamel Farmer of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania was ejected from the car.
He was transported to Carroll Hospital Center where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old Elizabeth Nicole Jones, of Chambersburg was transported to Sinai Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
The road was closed for about four hours following the crash.
Investigators say alcohol may have contributed to the collision.
Maryland State Police are investigating the accident.
