Century Felon Accused Of Aggravated Assault For Hitting Woman With Handgun
A Century felon is accused of striking a woman in the head with a handgun and weapon possession. Kenneth Elbert Hammac, 41, was charged with aggravated battery domestic violence using a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon — all felonies.
Navarre's second McDonald's planned for Navarre Parkway
A new set of golden arches could be coming soon to Navarre Parkway after a proposal to build a new McDonald’s was filed with Santa Rosa County on May 6. If approved, the new restaurant would become the global fast-food chain’s second location in the Navarre area. The only McDonald’s in Navarre currently is located at 8644 Navarre Pkwy and it’s about 10 minutes from where the new restaurant is proposed for development.

Atmore Community Hospital Awards Scholarships
Atmore Community Hospital (ACH) recently awarded scholarships to eight graduating seniors from Escambia Academy, Escambia County (AL) High School and Northview High School. “This marks the first year of the ACH High School Scholarships. This year, we were able to reward the effort of the students, as well as provide assistance to those entering health related fields of study,” Brad Lowery, administrator of Atmore Community Hospital said. “We wish all the 2024 seniors the best of luck in the future.”

31-year-old woman killed in crash on I-10 in Santa Rosa County
SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. -- A 31-year-old Milton woman was killed in a crash on I-10 in Santa Rosa County Wednesday evening. It happened around 5:45 p.m. near mile marker 29. According to Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was traveling westbound on I-10 in an SUV when the vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned.
