Grand Island gallery serves as an outlet for Nebraska artists
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KOLN) - During a visit to Studio 10 Art Gallery in downtown Grand Island, we discovered art work on display produced by artists from all over the state. We talked with owner Heidi Sack about her business. “I’m showcasing statewide artists,” Sack said. “This is a place where they can display their work for the public. All of the artists in the gallery are either from Nebraska, or have some roots in Nebraska.” The kind of media you’ll find in the gallery ranges from pottery to acrylic and oil paintings. “Pretty much anything you want to see out of art, you’ll find here in the gallery,” Sack said. “All of the art in the store is for sale. The fun part about buying a local piece of art is, you will always have something totally different from anything else.”
‘Key to the city’ awarded to Grand Island couple on diamond anniversary
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island couple celebrated 75 years of marriage and were honored with the ‘key to the city’ by Mayor Roger Steele. Richard and Mildred Hoffman met 77 years ago at baseball game in Doniphan. Richard came home from the Navy and did what kids do during that time, go to the farmer’s irrigation well and have a water fight. That was also the day he met his wife Mildred.

Two arrested after deputy finds 2 pounds of meth during I-80 traffic stop near York
YORK, Neb. (KOLN) - Two people were arrested after a York County sheriff’s deputy found two pounds of meth during a traffic stop on I-80. A deputy stopped a vehicle on I-80 west of York for multiple traffic violations on Friday. According to the sheriff’s department, the deputy became suspicious of the male driver and female passenger inside the vehicle and deployed his K-9, Justice.
